Description
Zawodzie is a district of Katowice with a specific atmosphere. It is characterized by a typical Upper Silesian residential development. There are two- and four- floor residential buildings as well as brick and stone tenement houses. The properties are separated with yards. Beside some buildings there are small gardens.
In the Zawodzie district there is relatively much green area. A Gothic Revival local town hall was erected here in 1912, which currently is a seat of the rector’s office of the University of Economics.
‘Słowian’, a modern sports centre with football pitch, tennis courts, gym and skatepark is situated in the district.
In the vicinity there are: Bogucice, Mysłowice and Szopienice.
