Description
Prof. Aleksander Kamiński Youth Palace is located in the centre of Katowice. It was built in 1951 on the basis of a design made by two architects from Gliwice- Zygmunt Majerski and Julian Duchowicz. Since that time the building has served children and youth as the educational centre .
In the building there are among others:
– 25 meter long swimming pool,
– theatre and cinema hall (430 seats),
– teaching rooms,
– back-offices,
– gym,
– concert hall,
– fencing and judo room,
– exhibition rooms,
– cloakroom.
A total area of the building is 14,000 m2. In 2014 a renovation of the building was finished. At the building there is a big square, which can serve as a car park for a film crew.
