Description
A territory located in the southern part of Poland that consists of a hilly landscape to the level of 400-515 m with Jurassic limestone rocks. It is an 80 km stretchwhich connects Kraków with Częstochowa.
The Kraków-Częstochowa Jurrasic Upland delights with its diversity:
– abundant flora and fauna,
– numerous woods,
– geology (caves with stalagmites and stalactites, Maczuga Herkulesa, Rów Krzeszowicki).
The rivers Warta, Biała Przemsza, Czarna Przemsza and Pilica have their sources here.
Tourist attractions of the place include:
– Ogrodzieniec Castle,
– RabsztynCastle,
– Castle in Olkusz,
– BoboliceCastle,
– Jasna Góra,
– Smocza Jama,
– Łokietek’s Cave,
– so called ‘Trail of the Eagles’ Nests’.
In the Kraków- Częstochowa Upland the films ‘The Saragossa Manuscript’ and ‘The Revenge’ were made.
