Sosnowiec, Robotnicza Street
Sosnowiec
Description
One of the streets of Sosnowiec, located in the Stara Środula district. Pre-war, red-brick tenement houses with high windows belong to typical Silesian working class buildings. The tenement houses are surrounded by a greenbelt from the side of the street. From the courtyard’s side there is a string of pigsties, which formerly served as adjacent box rooms. They were built to complement cellars, where coal and wood were stocked or small livestock was bred.
In the vicinity there are:
– transport and service company,
– Municipal Public Library,
– Boulevards,
– ‘Plejada’ shopping centre,
– exit road to Dąbrowa Górnicza.
Zagłębie [DąbrowaBasin] is one of the most interesting areas in Upper Silesia, which is very often underestimated by filmmakers. However, it is worth exploring the area to find out secrets it is hiding.
