Description
Built in the 14th – 15th century in Kraków-Częstochowa Upland (Jura). Ogrodzieniec Castle is one of the most popular tourist attractions in southern Poland. Built in Baroque style, destroyed and reconstructed, this time in Renaissance style.
The ruins of the castle are situated on the highest hill of Kraków-Częstochowa Upland – Zamkowa Mountain, 515,5 meters above sea level high. Located in Podzamcze village it is one of many spots on the Trail of the Eagles’ Nests.
The ruins of the castle are currently open to visitors.
The castle is surrounded by beautiful, green space.
Perfect location for shooting historic movies. In the castle premises shooting of “The Revenge” (by A. Wajda), “The Knight” (by L. Majewski) and the TV show “Janosik” took place.
