Mirów castle
Niegowa
Description
Mirów Castle was erected in the 16th century in Kraków- Częstochowa Jurassic Upland. It is listed in the Register of Historic Monuments of Upper Silesia as the ‘immovable monument’.
A beautiful, historic area and picturesque scenery with rocks, caves and monadnocks surround the castle. About 150 meters far from the castle there is a parking lot, where it is possible to locate a film crew.
Actually it is closed to visitors, due to a bad condition of the building and renovation works.
In the vicinity there are Bobolice Castle and Grzęda Mirowsko- Bobolicka [rocky ramparts].
The charming, historic building has been used in film productions such as ‘The Friend of Jolly Devil’, ‘Pan Samochodzik’ [Mister Automobile], ‘Nad rzeką, której nie ma’ [By the River Nowhere].
