Located in the city centre Mater Dolorosa Cemetery was founded around 17^th century. Entered in the national register of historic monuments cemetery is one of the oldest one in Silesia and the most important in Bytom. It is Bytom’s place of historical remembrance and important monument.

 

In the cemetery premises are found:

– The Neo-Gothic chapel from 1882 designed by H. Heer,

– numerous tombs,

– alleys surrounded by ancient forest,

– historic fence.

 

By the cemetery the Holy Trinity Church and the Jewish Cemetery are located.
