Górna Street, Katowice
Katowice
Description
Górna Steet in Katowice is located in Bogucice district, in the area commonly know as Pekin.
There are three-story, red brick, multi-family houses built for coalminers so called ‘familoki’. The buildings are neglected as well as the area around them.
In front of the buildings there are small benches, which are used by the inhibitants as a meeting spot during sunny days.
The street boarders with Katowicka street from one side, while on the other side there is a slag heap, a leftover from unfinished part of the road that was supposed to connect the city centre with Bogucice.
International Congress Centre, new seat of the Silesian Museum and Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra are located in close proximity.
