Katarzyna Trzcińska-Palenga
Description
I’m a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. In my work, I combine artistic sensitivity with the technical precision essential for large-scale historical and contemporary productions. My approach to set design is based on a holistic understanding of the image – from creating atmosphere through decoration to typographic detail.
My portfolio includes work in set design on key titles of recent Polish cinema, such as „Heweliusz”, „Simona Kossak”, „Filip”, „Shreds” (Strzępy) and „Dangerous Men” (Niebezpieczni Dżentelmeni). I enjoy working both on international co-productions (including the German series „Der Masuren Krimi” and „Der Palast”) and musical forms (designing the space-building graphics for Rozalia’s music video „Berghain”). As a multidisciplinary creator, I ensure visual coherence on many levels:
● Set Design and Decoration: My extensive experience working on set allows me to efficiently manage the aesthetics of the frame and ensure visual continuity. In productions such as the Silesian production “Godej do mie” (directed by Robert Talarczyk), as the second set designer and set designer, I co-founded the team that realized the vision of the main set designers, Katarzyna Sobańska and Marcel Sławiński.
● Film Graphics: I specialize in prop design, visual identification of the presented world and historical typography. As a new media artist (my own VR project “Out of Time”), I bring a knowledge of modern technologies to traditional filmmaking. Digital skills allow me to broaden my perspective on contemporary production and facilitate communication within interdisciplinary teams that connect the real and virtual worlds.
